Conceived by choreographer Camille A. Brown in 2014, The Gathering serves as an open forum for intergenerational black female artists to support one another and to advocate for greater cultural equity and acknowledgement in the contemporary dance world. As trendsetters and pioneers who merit more widespread public recognition for their innovations, this evolving group of black choreographers meets annually to examine the reasons for this precedent and to embark on a mission to make their work more broadly accessible and appreciated. Leading this year's transformative experience will be Co-faciliators Ebony Noelle Golden and Sydnie Mosley.

The Gathering, is also proud to partner with The Field again to facilitate two incredible workshops this year. Learn more below and RSVP TODAY! Spots are limited!

Workshop #1
Writing Project Descriptions and Artist Statements
2:30PM-4:00PM
Gibney Dance | Learning & Leadership Center
Project descriptions and artist statements are the backbone of artists' materials.  Whether you're applying for a grant, residency or performance, or putting together your press kit, solid writing that describes your work and expresses your creative voice is key.  This workshop provides examples from other artists, and gives participants a forum to develop their writing and receive feedback.

RSVP for Workshop #1: Writing Project Descriptions and Artist Statements.

Workshop #2
Social Media: Do I Need This?
4:30PM-6:00PM
