Complete the FY24 CDF Impact Survey

Dance/NYC and A.R.T./New York in partnership with Carrie Blake have released the FY24 CDF Impact Survey for all NYC arts and cultural institutions that applied for the the Department of Cultural Affairs’ Cultural Development Fund (CDF) for FY24.

The goal of the survey and subsequent analysis is to create a critical tool for organizing and advocating for equitable public funding. The survey is open for submissions until March 11, 2024.

What this means:
Arts and culture organizations are reckoning with disparity among DCLA’s CDF award distributions this fiscal year. The recent awards do not adequately reflect the level of public funding necessary for institutions to effectively serve diverse arts and culture communities nor does the CDF awarding process factor the sustainability of these organizations.

Gaining a better understanding of the number of organizations receiving grants, those encountering reductions, and those facing complete funding loss will enable us to advocate for more equitable funding, especially in light of potential budget cuts across the City and State.

What you can do:
If you applied for DCLA’s CDF funding—no matter the results—take the FY24 CDF Impact Survey so we can better advocate for more resources and a more equitable distribution of funds across the NYC arts and culture community.
