Salary Transparency

Salary Transparency on Dance.NYC Listings

In accordance with New York’s Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements law, all listings on Dance.NYC are required to include a good-faith salary range for every job, promotion, and transfer opportunity advertised.

What this means:
The “Compensation” field for all listings is now required.
If compensation will not be provided, your listing is considered a Volunteer opportunity. You should then follow these instructions:

  • You should indicate your listing is a Volunteer opportunity by checking the “Volunteering” box under “Category”.
  • You must enter “0” for the “Compensation” field.

For additional guidance, visit New York Lawyers for the Public Interest and Nonprofit New York's advisory on navigating and meeting the new state and city laws.

As stated in Dance/NYC’s Terms of Use, Dance/NYC reserves the right to remove a listing that does not comply with this law, and any other federal, state, and local law or regulation, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Law.

A dancer in a black tutu and leotard and pointe shoes stands on one leg, with the other leg extended behind the body in a straight line. One arm is raised above the head and the other extended to the back parallel to the extended leg. The school director is opposite the dancer and wears a red DTH logo t-shirt and black pants and ballet slippers. She holds the hand of the arm raised above the dancer’s head with one arm and her back arm is extended and she is smiling at the student.
