American Dance Guild Festival 2011 - call for Choreography
For our 2011 Festival which takes place on February 24-27, 2011, the American Dance Guild (ADG) invites applications from contemporary dance artists of diverse backgrounds, ages and aesthetics throughout the United States and internationally.
To download our application go to: http://tinacroll.files.wordpress.com/2010/09/adg-festival-2011-application-description1.pdf . Or go to www.americandanceguild.org
ADG is dedicated to presenting the range and diversity of expression in current dance art practice and how it interfaces with our historical modern dance roots. This year we will be featuring work by dance legend, Jane Dudley, and celebrated choreographer Paul Sanasardo, mentor and teacher to Pina Bausch among many others. Paul, now located in Chicago, will be here to attend the opening night reception.
We are very excited to be holding our festival at the beautiful Manhattan Movement Arts Theater (now under new management and technical direction!) located at 248 West 60th Street in New York City. Five different programs will be presented during the festival on February 25-27, 2011.
If you applied in the past and were not accepted, PLEASE apply again! Feel free to circulate this form.
Submissions will be adjudicated by an invited group of professionals in the field.
Technical Requirements
The proposed work should be no longer than 10 minutes in length Since each program may include 7-8 different pieces the tech requirements must be kept to a minimum. If you want to include film or video you must be prepared to bring your own equipment and be able to set it up within the allotted tech time. Each choreographer will be expected to contribute two hours of work. This can include putting out flyers at dance studios, helping backstage, box office, ushers, reception, etc.
