2013 iLAB Residency - Application Seminars + Call for Proposals
APPLICATION SEMINARS
Get acquainted with the history and mission of iLAND, and past iLABresidency projects. Collaboration is a cornerstone of the iLABResidency Program. Meet potential collaborators and share ideasforprojects in 2013 at the open Application Seminars. Time: 1:00-3:00pm
Place: Abrons Arts Center | 466 Grand Street | New York, NY 10002
iLAB is a residency program supporting collaborations betweenmovement-based artists and scientists, environmentalists, urbandesigners/landscape architects, architects and others that integratecreative practice within different fields/disciplines.
The goals of iLAB are:
1) To invigorate and re-imagine relationships between the public andthe urban environment through kinetic experience.
2) To engage artists and practitioners across the disciplines ofdance, art, and the ecology of physical interrelationships such thatwe create and investigate innovative approaches to science,infrastructure, urbanisms, and architecture within a performative
context.
3) To support the development of process in engagement over productsuch that process is itself a productforartistic and public action.
Each year iLAB provides collaborator teams with support including astipend, resources to document the residency, mechanismsfordisseminating their research in the science and art communities, andmentoring throughout the process.
The first round letter of inquiry is due on November 20, 2012. Please note that confirmed collaborators arenotnecessary for submitting a LOI for review.
