EPIC Motion Dance Company Auditions

Come out to audition for E.P.I.C. Motion Dance Company! Auditions will be held on February 2, 2013 from 5:30pm-9pm at PMT Dance Studio (69 W 14th St, 3rd floor, New York, NY). Registration/check-in begins at 5pm. This season will be the beginning of a new and exciting direction for the company, and we'd love for you to be a part of it.

Over the last 5 seasons, E.P.I.C. has competed and placed at several hip-hop dance competitions in the tri-state area, including most recently 2nd place at Pride Dance Competition. For the past two springs, we have also put together a showcase, featuring works of individual members, as well as outside groups.

However, this season, we're excited to announce that the company will focus on individual training and growth as dancers, choreographers, and leaders, and performing at various venues, in addition to putting together our own professional quality showcase. Although these all have been underlying goals for each season, due to the emphasis on putting a competition set together, they have too often fallen by the wayside. As a result, we have decide to take a hiatus from the competition circuit, giving us the freedom to push ourselves and each other to another level.

We're looking for people who love to move, in any style, to any genre of music. We're looking for those who love to share themselves and love to learn from others.

There is a $5 audition fee and a registration form that must be filled out before you audition. The form is a Google Doc and can be filled out here.

If you have any questions about the audition process, or how the structure of the season will be, please feel free to email us at epic.m.dance@gmail.com.

Check out a video of our most recent performance, which placed 2nd at Pride 5 Dance Competition.

Thanks for reading, and looking forward to dancing with you!
