Become a part of the ClancyWorks Dance Company 2016 Summer Dance Institute and an exciting week of:

  > Exploring Multiple Styles of Techniques including Contemporary Modern, Ballet, Jazz, and Afro-Fusion.
  > Examining ClancyWorks Award-Winning Repertory and Signature Compositional Frameworks.
  > Building Highly Physical and Extensive Partnering Skills.
  > Enhancing Performance Qualities.
  > Engaging in Daily Informal Performance and Choreographic Opportunities.

Workshops participants have the opportunity to AUDITION to become a ClancyWorks Company Member and/or a Teaching Artist for our upcoming seasons.

Our Fall 2016 Touring Season includes performances in New York, New Mexico and around the Greater Washington, DC region. In addition to formal concerts (around 10 each season), ClancyWorks Dance Company conducts a series of Arts in Education Residencies and School Assemblies (around 30 each season) throughout the Greater Washington, DC area.

Dancers are paid at a competitive wage for rehearsals and performances and have the opportunity to earn more funds through teaching in our Arts-In Ed Programs. (Our Company Members usually earn an average salary between $300 and $600 weekly, depending on teaching contracts). We also offer professional development, teacher training, and bring in nationally recognized guest choreographers.

Join us for the 2016 Summer Dance Institute!

Get inspired by fellow dancers, performers, and choreographers to build upon your dance experiences!  Classes will stimulate as well as challenge you with new techniques for partnering, improvising, choreographing, and performing!  

Instructors include renowned Artists such as:

  > Courtney Harris, former Houston Ballet dancer current VCU Professor who will be teaching Ballet and Ballet Repertory & Performance.
  > Countess Winfrey, ClancyWorks Company Member leading Afro-fusion and other World Dance classes.
  > Philip Baraoidan, ClancyWorks Company Member leading Jazz, Contemporary, and Improvisational classes.
  > As well as other ClancyWorks Team Members and Artistic Director Dr. Adrienne Clancy, leading set-specific and site specific approaches to choreography and partnering.  

FEE: $350 for the full week | $90 for one day | $25 per workshop
