Spark Movement Collective seeks Development Associate

 

SPARK MOVEMENT COLLECTIVE

POSITION TITLE: Development Associate

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Development Associate manages all of Spark Movement Collective’s fundraising efforts, including identifying major gift opportunities and solicitation, strategic planning, donor communication and stewardship, as well as conceptualizing fundraising events.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Identify prospective donors across individual, corporate, and institutional levels, and strategize connections and targets for approach.

- Work with members of the Board of Trustees to create strategic fundraising plans including donor cultivation and recognition.

- Manage execution of strategic fundraising plan, including writing and submitting proposals, reports, acknowledgments, and budgets for foundations, corporations, and government agencies.

- Strengthen current donor relationships with targeted individuals, corporations, and foundations.

- Research and evaluate potential grant opportunities and other sources of support.

- Determine and manage process for donor cultivation and recognition.

- Assist in the execution of Spark’s written communication, including drafting language for donor and prospect communication, and content for the website and social media vehicles as it pertains to fundraising efforts.

- Work in tandem with Spark’s Executive Committee.

- Work with the Marketing Associate and Press Associate to identify fundraising initiatives through social media and press opportunities.

- Manage fundraising calendar, including grant progress and deadlines, as well as year-end appeals, and timelines for fundraising campaigns.
 
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
-Experience in fundraising, specifically in a performing arts setting.

- Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills.

- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Strong computer skills and experience with MS Office.

TIME COMMITMENT: 1-3 hours per week

This is a volunteer position with a nominal stipend of $100.
