Applications are open for choreographers and dancers to participate!!

Peridance’s Choreographic Development Project is a week-long program for emerging contemporary choreographers, as well as dancers seeking to be a part of the creative process. This program will take place from July 16th to July 21st. FIVE choreographers will be selected to participate in this unique project.

Choreographers will be given two hours of rehearsal space a day for five days, which they will use to create a new work-in-progress. At the start of the week, participating choreographers will select dancers (min. 3 dancers, max 6 dancers) to work with throughout the program.

Each day will begin with a class warm-up and improvisation session, lead by various members of the Peridance faculty who will act as mentors to the participants. Mentors will also give the artists feedback on their choreographic process and progress throughout the week.

The purpose of this project is not for choreographers to have a completed work but rather to begin something that they can work on independently once the program has ended. On Saturday, July 21st participating choreographers will present their work in the Salvatore Capezio Theater, alongside the program mentors.
