Program & Events Intern
Cora is seeking a college student and/or recent graduate interested in learning how a thriving dance non-profit organization operates from the inside out with the opportunity to tailor the experience to their interests.
Get hands-on experience in Arts Administration through an internship at Shannon Hummel/Cora Dance in dance production, marketing, arts administration, fundraising, event planning and youth development.
Shannon Hummel/Cora Dance began as a critically acclaimed dance company in 1997. In 2009, Cora established a permanent home in the socio-economically divided community of Red Hook, Brooklyn, rooting the work of the professional company and establishing a 5-day per week pay-what-you-can School for Dance in the community. From the start, Cora dedicated itself to the practice of turning no one away from a performance, program or event based on what or if they could pay, believing that excellent arts experiences should never be denied anyone based on financial circumstances. With this practice in place, Cora immediately became a hub of intersection in the historically socio-economically divided community of Red Hook.
