Fall Teaching Positions Available: Language Immersion, Voice, Hip Hop
WMAAC Residencies seeks qualified teaching artists with experience working with children (ages 2-12) for our Fall 2018 session.
Programing dates cover: September 17, 2018 - January 26, 2019 with option to continue in Winter/Spring 2019
Seeking Teaching Artists with confirmed weekday availablity between 2:00 - 6:00PM, for various days & positions. Apart from the immediate needs below, we offer a variety programs across a broad spectrum of movement and performing arts education throughout the Williamsburg/Greenpoint area Monday-Friday. See our immediate needs below. As our staff and programming needs are fluid and constantly changing, we'd love to hear from you regardless!
Immediate needs:
Mondays: General after school assistance from 2-5/6 PM including Foreign Language Immersion, Hip Hop classes.
Tuesdays: General after school assistance from 2-5/6 PM including Rhythm & Voice (introductory), Theater, and Spanish Immersion classes
Wednesdays: General after school assistance from 2-5/6 PM including Hip Hop, Crafting, and Ballet classes
Thursdays: General after school assistance from 2-5/6 PM including Rhythm & Voice (Introductory) classes
Fridays: General after school assistance from 2-5/6 PM including Rhythm & Voice (Introductory), Creative Movement, and Foreign Language Immersion classes
Potential to expand and grow within our organization over time, up to 5 afternoons a week and including other styles of movement.
What we're looking for:
Ability to create a fun, safe, & engaging teaching environment.
Ability to assess the overall skill level of a class & conduct developmentally appropriate lessons.
Performing Arts teaching experience in studio & in public school settings. Young/ New teachers, don't be afraid to apply!
Strong management skills of schedule & classrooms.
Punctual, responsible, reliable beings.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Strong communication skills (with fellow teaching artists, supervisors, and adminisrative team)
Bilingual/Multilingual a plus!
Multi-faceted/double & triple threats always welcome: Dancers who sing; Singers who act; Actors who craft; all of the above!
Teaching artists must be available and in the Williamsburg/ Greenpoint area between 2:00 - 6:00.
Ability & experience teaching advanced beginner and intermediate levels a plus!
