Development consultant search for Ronald K. Brown/Evidence-Joyce Administrative Collaboration

Joyce Theater Facade

The Joyce Theater Foundation is seeking a Development Consultant to help create and implement a fundraising plan for Ronald K. Brown/Evidence, A Dance Company starting in the 2020 calendar year, which represents the company’s 35th anniversary.

Evidence and The Joyce are building an administrative collaboration through which The Joyce is now serving as Evidence’s fiscal sponsor and providing help with the dance company’s administrative and fundraising functions. The Development Consultant will play a key role in renewing and advancing Evidence’s fundraising efforts, including individual giving, institutional giving, and special events. The Evidence/Joyce administrative collaboration has secured significant funding in 2019, including three grant awards to date; and recently implemented a successful cultivation event coinciding with Evidence’s Lincoln Center debut as part of Paul Taylor American Modern Dance’s Donald McKayle tribute program. A 35th anniversary campaign is currently being planned that will launch coinciding with Evidence’s 16th performance engagement at The Joyce Theater, February 25–March 1, 2020.

The Joyce is seeking a part-time consultancy for an initial 12-month period with specific terms to be negotiated. The person to fill this role will have similar fundraising experience working to support nonprofit dance companies and independent dance projects. The Development Consultant will report to The Joyce’s Director of Institutional Giving.

The Joyce is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer that is committed to creating a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment for its artists, audiences, and staff.
