Cross Move Lab Improv Jam 9/4

Dancers,

You are invited to join us from wherever you are around the globe to our free, improv jam No Time Zone on Friday, September 4th! This week, we are happy to introduce guest artist Zhiren Xiao as the leader of our jam.

Zhiren loves dancing. After graduating from university, he joined Beijing LDTX Modern Dance Company (2009-2010), Guangdong Modern Dance Company (2011-2017), was a guest dancer of Expression Dance Company in Australia and Y-space Dance Company in Hong Kong. In 2011, he was awarded the scholarship by Asian Culture Council (ACC) to visit and participate in the American Dance Festival (ADF) in the USA, and granted "2011 international choreographer" of the International Choreographers Residency (ICR) program. In 2018, Zhiren won the Second Prize at the 32 International Competition for Choreography in Hanover, Germany and the Audience Award for Best Choreography and Special Mention of the Jury at the 23 MASDANZA in the Canary Islands (Spain). In 2019, Zhiren was selected for the “Young Choreographers Developing Project” by the Chinese Dancers Association. Meanwhile, Zhiren began his European tour for the performance in Cádiz en Danza (Spain), the Rotterdam Duet International Choreographer Competition (RIDCC) in the Netherlands as well as the Copenhagen International Choreographer Competition (CICC) in Denmark.
