Ellison Ballet offers four unique summer programs that provide the highest quality ballet education for serious students and professional dancers. Dancers come away with greater strength, precision, confidence, and knowledge — and ultimately experience the power and poetry of the art that is ballet.

INTERNATIONAL REPERTOIRE INTENSIVE *NEW*
2-Week Program in LOS ANGELES
June 5-16, 2023
Ages: 12-24

This new summer intensive offers the unique opportunity for talented dancers to be immersed in the world’s most acclaimed styles of ballet, including Russian, Balanchine, French, and Bournonville. Choreography will be staged and coached by some of the most sought after masters of each style, and the intensive will culminate with an exciting performance at the Glorya Kaufman International Dance Center at USC Los Angeles.

 

ELLISON BALLET SUMMER INTENSIVE
June 19-July 14, 2023
4-Week Program in NEW YORK CITY
Ages 12-21

The EBSI has become a destination for some of the most talented students in North America and abroad. This four-week session is designed for students who wish to experience concentrated exposure to exceptional classical ballet training in New York City - the mecca of the dance-world.

There is great emphasis on our men's program, focusing on the development of the power, stamina, and masculinity associated with strong male technique. The curriculum affords an excellent opportunity to greatly improve technical skill, develop greater self awareness and gain a deeper understanding of individual artistic potential. Students learn from the highly effective teaching methods of master teacher Edward Ellison and his international faculty. 

 

CLASSICAL VARIATIONS INTENSIVE
2-Week Program in NEW YORK CITY
July 17-28, 2023
Ages: 13-21

This special two-week program is for young ladies who wish to be immersed in the details of classical ballet variations. The curriculum includes daily classes in classical technique, pointe, and intensive study of some of the most famous solo choreography in the history of ballet. ?This is an excellent opportunity for those wishing to prepare to successfully compete at international ballet competitions. 

 

PAS DE DEUX INTENSIVE
2-Week Program in NEW YORK CITY
July 17-28, 2023
Ages: 16-24

This exclusive program will focus on the study of various pas de deux from the great classical ballet repertoire, immersing students in the pas de deux, variations and codas associated with each selected ballet. Open only to pre-professional students ages 16+ and professional ballet dancers up to age 24, the unique program will be particularly helpful to dancers preparing for international competition. Students of the Ellison Ballet - Pas de Deux Intensive will learn choreography from both the classical and contemporary traditions, allowing our talented students to expand their repertoire and skills in our most exclusive program, taught by artistic director Edward Ellison and contemporary artist Juan Rodriguez.

Audition Requirements

--Applicants should have a strong basic classical foundation in relation to their level and age. Please see the following for program age requirements/eligibility.
--Students may choose to audition for as many Ellison Ballet programs as they would like during the Audition Tour, including all summer programs and the year-round program.
--Students who are 11 years old may audition for the EBSI if they will turn 12 by June 2023.
--Dancers should audition with the age group that they fall into on the date of their audition. (Ex: If a student is 15 years old in January during the audition, but will turn 16 in April before the program begins, the student should audition with the 12-15 age group.)

There are two ways to audition:; both are given equal consideration. Please note we are not holding Zoom auditions during the 2023 Audition Tour. Any student who cannot attend an in-person audition is encouraged to submit a video audition.

Audition Registration Fee (Non-Refundable): $40

While pre-registration online is strongly preferred, walk-in registration is available at all in-person audition locations via a QR code. Walk-in auditionees must have a credit or debit card to pay the audition fee.
