New York Fashion Week- Male-Identifying Dancers

Terry Singh will present their Spring/Summer 2025 Menswear Collection on Friday, September 6th— as part of Men's Day (NYMD) for New York Fashion Week. We're excited to collaborate with dancers to showcase our work in motion with Movement Direction by Kelli Youngman and Tara Youngman.

Seeking: 12-14 male identifying modern and contemporary dancers. All ethnicities. Late 20s - early 40s, between 5'8" and 6'0".

This opportunity is volunteer based. NYMD is highly regarded and publicized on a global platform. You will have access to the photo and video footage that is taken and sent out to all major fashion publications. Our models have been showcased in the NYTimes, Vogue.com, and more.

If selected, the commitment requires:

• Learn 2-3 short phrases of movement from video (~30 seconds each)
• 1 studio rehearsal with full company for spacing (up to 2 hours, week of 8/26)
• In person fitting in Hell's Kitchen (45 minutes, 9/2-9/6)
• Arrive to location on time for hair/makeup and spacing (typically 2.5 hours before)
• NYMD Presentation (90 minutes)

Please note: this is not a runway show. You will actively model for the entire presentation, with an emphasis on energy, fun, and personality. Our shows are lively and engaging! There will be formation shifts, with musical cues to reset and begin the movement phrases every 10-15 minutes.

To be considered: complete this form by Friday, July 19, 2024 - https://forms.gle/AbF5aYRKcc7t6tkGA

Dancers will be selected and confirmed by Friday, August 9, 2024, with video references sent out by Monday, August 19, 2024.

A note from the Designer: The collection was inspired by a recent trip to Santa Barbara. I observed about fourteen men on a coffee break, all in matching industrial shop-worn uniforms. When they stood up and walked away in unison, like a flock of swans in motion, it was intriguingly masculine and sexy, triggering something deep inside of me. An exciting experience combining dance and fashion is being envisioned. If this resonates with you, let's come together and create something wonderful.
