Lydia Johnson Dance seeks a male and a female dancer for December NYC Season

Lydia Johnson Dance is seeking highly musical, expressive dancers for contemporary work for a December NYC Season at the Graham Studio Theater. Performances are December 4, 5 and 8. Dancers should have strong interest in partnering.

Rehearsals are Tuesday afternoons and/or evenings, and Sunday afternoons, with some flexibility. Dancers should also be available for all tech rehearsals and performances from December 1-8.

To be considered for an invitation to attend an upcoming rehearsal, please send a current headshot and resume to lydiajohnsondancenyc@gmail.com

“Johnson is a craftsman and a poet; her works, which stress the ensemble and attend closely to the music, have an ebb and flow in addition to a strong emotional current.” ~The New Yorker

“Lydia Johnson's work, rooted as it is classical ballet technique, is alive with dramatic nuances that paradoxically seem both contemporary and curiously evocative of ancient modes of dance. Among current choreographers, Lydia's work bristles and blooms with a poignant sense of humanity. There's nary a trace of theatricality in her dances; rather, she uses the music as a canvas on which emotions - both the deep and the subtle - are painted.” ~Philip Gardner, Oberon’s Grove
