CONTRACT TEMPLATE DOCUMENTS LETTER OF UNDERSTANDING
The following contract template agreements are provided by Dance/NYC to the dance community as a reference only and is not a legal document. Before entering into any professional arrangement, however, dancers, choreographers and dance companies should consult an attorney to discuss their legal rights and obligations under a finalized agreement.
Terms and provisions which appear in brackets are subject to substantial variation in the industry according to individual circumstances. Example language is merely suggested as a starting point for negotiations between the choreographer and dance company, and may or may not be applicable to any
particular engagement.
Dance/NYC, its agents, officers and all persons assisting Dance/NYC in the preparation of this form disclaim all warranties, express or implied, as to its legal effect and completeness (including, without limitation, warranties of merchantability, non-infringement of intellectual property, or fitness for any particular purpose). The provision of this form does not create an attorney client relationship with any attorney assisting in its production. This form is not a substitute for the advice of an attorney. In no event shall Dance/NYC, its agents, officers or any person assisting Dance/NYC in the preparation of this form be liable for any damages whatsoever (including, without limitation, damages for loss of profits, business interruption or loss of information) arising out of the use or inability to use the materials, even if Dance/NYC, its agents, officers or any person assisting Dance/NYC in the preparation of this form have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
