Associate Institute Director

 

The José Limón Dance Foundation, parent organization of the Limón Dance Company and Limón Institute, seeks an Associate Institute Director.  This is a full-time position supervised by and reporting to the Institute Director, to start August 30, 2010. Primary areas of responsibility for this position include the management and supervision of the Limón School, the Professional Studies Program, and Limón Summer Dance Programs. In conjunction with the Institute Director and the Executive Director, the Associate Director will manage promotion, budgets, student recruitment and registration, scheduling, and negotiations with partnering institutions. 

The Associate Institute Director will work closely with the Institute Director in overseeing the licensing of Limón dances for Dance schools and Dance Companies around the world, scheduling reconstructors, negotiating contracts, and providing audio and video resources.  The Associate Institute Director will also oversee the maintenance of the Limón archives, and will assist in preparing reports and self studies, as required by the National Association of Schools of Dance and other governmental agencies.

Applicants should have knowledge of dance and arts education, arts program management experience, and a familiarity with dance training and the Limón legacy. Must be able to work independently, juggle multiple projects, and be detail-oriented.
