Social Meda Intern

 

:pushing progress is a New York based contemporary dance performance company and training program. Founded in 2006, :pushing progress utilizes a basic knowledge of anatomy to teach body awareness to dancers as a means to increase artistic and performance capabilities.  :pushing progress has travelled nationally and internationally to perform and to bring our training program to dancers working toward a professional career in contemporary dance. :pushing progress is currently expanding its creative/ administrative team and is seeking a positive and energetic social media intern who is interested in learning the behind the scenes aspects of running a company in the dance industry.

 

The internship position is available ASAP for the right candidates. This is a part time internship 10-15 hours per week with a flexible schedule.  Duties include managing our new interactive facebook page, social media research and the management and implementation of small promotional projects.

 

Candidates should possess:

-- working knowledge of Mac computers and the internet

-- organizational skills

-- initiative, resourcefulness and a vested interest in the vision of :pushing progress

-- ability to learn quickly

-- a positive attitude

-- knowledge of and interest in the competitive dance world is a plus but not required

 

This is an ideal opportunity for recent graduates or current students to learn from the ground up what it takes to conceive and launch an innovative concept in the dance industry. The intern will have the chance to work with premier teachers/choreographers in the contemporary dance sector and will have the opportunity to gain experience in conceiving and implementing marketing campaigns, researching social media networking and designing and managing social media projects.

This is an unpaid internship with potential for future hire and compensation. Interns are eligible to earn academic credit and to receive free dance classes with the company directors in NYC.
