Perceptions Dance looking for Dancers

 
PCDC is looking for 3 dancers to join the company for the 2011-2012 season, and several dancers for a new evening length piece, with possibility to join the company for the 2011-2012 season.

PCDC will be holding a 4 day workshop/audition series, geared towards intermediate and advanced dancers. Each class, students will explore the contemporary, athletic movement style of PCDC and learn a samples of repertoire pieces, including brand new work. Students interested in using this opportunity as an audition for Perceptions Contemporary Dance Company should bring a resume and headshot with them. Interested dancers are encouraged to attend the entire workshop, however dancers may audition during any of the four days.

This is a unique opportunity to be a part of the PCDC Family and an up-and-coming dance company in New York City. Rehearsals are Thursday evenings and occasional Tuesday evenings. If asked to become a company member, dancers should be prepared for a week long intensive in Pennsylvania June 19th - 25th, housing and transportation provided with potential stipend.

Founded in 2007 by Melissa Gendreau, the main goal of PCDC is to create a new, contemporary perception on life through movement and dance. PCDC absorbs audiences in compelling stories - aiming to challenge existing perceptions of life through athletic and theatrical movement. PCDC is committed to creating art that contributes to the community in meaningful way through service and performance. The company has a strong focus on outreach, helping not-for-profit companies like M.E.D.A. (Massachusetts-Service Eating Disorder Association), Community Systems Inc, WHY ME (Sherry's House) and many more. In addition, PCDC hosts the Perceptions Dance Festival in New York, which gives emerging and established choreographers and companies an opportunity to present work in New York City.
