Volunteer for Performance Benefit
Artists Responding to Global Issues is a new initiative collaborating artists of all genres for the purpose of bettering the circumstances of people around the globe. ARGI's first benefit on Sunday, 3/27/11 5pm-10pm at Ida K. Lang Recital Hall of Hunter College, is in honor of Japan's current situation. All proceeds of the event will go to Japan Emergency Network and Peace Winds Japan, both well established non profit organizations already mobilized in the effected areas of North-eastern Japan.
Responsibilities: For 5 hours max. you will have the opportunity to use your compassion for the cause and assist during production, along with other volunteers, for the ARGI Japan Benefit. You should smile often to put artists and audience members at ease with your friendly demeanor. You can also help during light set up (stuffing programs, moving folding chairs or arranging designs on a table) and/or informing (as a go between/usher) by giving directions to/from rooms in the vicinity then simply watch the performance and enjoy the art.
This event is co-sponsored by the Dance Program of Hunter College and The Office of Performing Arts of Hunter College.
