SEEKING MALE AND FEMALE DANCERS FOR AN ENCHANTED JOURNEY IN CENTRAL PARK

ENCHANTED FOREST is looking for strong dancers, movers, and actors to perform in a site-specific children's piece based on the tale EAST OF THE SUN WEST OF THE MOON. EAST OF THE SUN is a collaboratively developed outdoor work in Central Park's Pilgrim Hill, inspired by the work of Punchdrunk. Performers will be taking on the roles of a young girl (Raina), her family, a Wolf-Prince, a Troll, the Stars, the Sun, the Moon, Mother Earth, and the North Wind. Children will be able to follow the characters as they interact with each other through movement, dialogue, dance, and games in a magically-transformed patch of Central Park.

EAST OF THE SUN performs at 2pm, August 6th-14th, 2011. Rehearsals will begin the week of July 11th.

EAST OF THE SUN WEST OF THE MOON features:
Story developed by Christina Hurtado (Manhattan Theater Source, 59E59)
Scenography by Meagan Miller-McKeever (Sleep No More, Planet Connections Theatre Festivity)
Choreography by Allison Brzezinski (ChEckiT Dance)
Costumes by Kristin Casta
Props by Olivia Gagne
and is directed by Greg Taubman (Extant Arts)

We are looking at all ages/types to join us for a workshop-style audition at 12:30 pm, Sunday July 10th. Please reply to greg.taubman@gmail.com if you'd like to join us for this fun and magical journey!
