Audition - August 16, 2011

BalaSole Dance Company is currently seeking high-calibered male and female solo dance artists (of all shapes, sizes, ages, and backgrounds) to perform their own 3-4 minute solo pieces, as well as ensemble pieces, at its fall 2011 concert in New York City scheduled for September 24 & 25, 2011. An advanced proficiency in either modern, contemporary, jazz, or ballet is required.

The first part of the audition will involve learning a short group combination. The second part will involve presentations of solo pieces (3-4 minutes maximum) to be performed in the fall 2011 concert. Please do not attend the above audition if your solo is unfinished. Self-choreographed solo pieces are preferred, but not required. Written permission must be obtained in advance from the choreographer if a solo piece is not self-choreographed. During the audition, emphasis will be given to technique, artistry, versatility, and performance.

Because of limited space, advance registration is mandatory and will be held at a first-come, first-served basis. Please complete, sign, and send your registration form by email (info@balasoledance.org) or by fax (646-530-8565). For audition details and registration form, visit the "Audition" page on our website www.balasoledance.org. Upon registration, send an electronic copy of your headshot, dance photo, bio, and resume to info@balasoledance.org.
