Installation Intern

 
Shen Wei Dance Arts (SWDA) is an internationally renowned contemporary dance company that creates interdisciplinary and cross-cultural works for forward looking audiences. SWDA is currently seekingan individual with a background in painting to help create installation components for the Park Avenue Armory performance in November. The intern will working directly under Shen Wei, assisting him with a variety of production tasks such as painting canvas sheets, building installation objects, organizing and maintaining inventories of installation items, and setting items in the performance space. Work will be done primarily in a studio environment and in the Armory.

Candidates must have a strong background in painting; experience with installation work is a plus. Additionally, candidates should be organized and be able to execute tasks in a timely manner. Driving ability is preferred.

All internships are unpaid but can be taken for academic credit. The Installation Intern should expect to work 30-40 hrs a week with a stipend of $20 per diem.
