Executive Director

ZviDance (Zvi Gotheiner & Dancers) seeks an executive director to work in partnership with the artistic director to oversee a ten-member dance company. The Company seeks a high level, dedicated executive director who has an affinity for the work of Zvi Gotheiner and the skill to identify and implement a pattern of growth and advancement for the Company.

 

The executive director will report to the Artistic Director and the Board of Directors. As an advocate, fundraiser, and producer, the executive director will be responsible for executing the logistical plan for the Company in partnership with the artistic director, Zvi Gotheiner, whose primary responsibility will be to direct and create the artistic direction.  The executive director will carry out such aspects of the Company’s strategic plan as resource development (fundraising and development),  touring, and coalition building with other cultural institutions. As a producer, the executive director will negotiate with theaters, produce and manage project budgets, as well as represent the artistic director to the national and international dance community.  It is critical that the executive director has or is able to develop an affinity for the work of Zvi Gotheiner and a passion for the art of dance.

 

This position will be of interest to highly organized individuals who possess related experience and excellent inter-personal skills, and enjoy multi-tasking and problem-solving. Previous experience in interacting with the professional dance community is highly preferred.

 

Currently, the company outsources all booking and financial management and will continue to do so.  The executive director will be expected to support and oversee those relationships as well as work with the Board of Directors to expand and develop its resources.

In addition to concert presentations, ZviDance engages in site-specific work that has been performed at a variety of locations such as Governors' Island, Alice Austen House Museum on Staten Island, the Angel Orensanz Foundation and the garden paths of Wave Hill.
