Shen Wei Dance Arts Internship Opportunity

 
Shen Wei Dance Arts (SWDA) is an internationally renowned contemporary dance company that creates interdisciplinary and crossacultural works for forward looking audiences. SWDA is currently seeking independent and creative undergraduate or graduate students for internships starting March 1st. This internship offers an inside look into the day to day operations of a multiafaceted, fast paced arts organization.

Interns will have a unique opportunity to be involved in various aspects of the organization including Marketing, Development, and Social Media. Interns will also assist in planning SWDA’s forthcoming Spring Benefit and Inaugural Summer Intensive.

Intern candidates should be energetic, eager to learn and have a selfastarter attitude. Some general qualifications include proficiency in Microsoft Office and Internet research. Photoshop and Final Cut Pro proficiency is a plus. Candidates should have excellent professional, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Also, due to the fast paced nature of this organization, candidates must be able to manage many tasks at once.

All internships are unpaid but can be taken for academic credit. Interns should expect to work 10-20 hours per week starting March 1st at the SWDA office, located at 135 West 29th Street. Typically, scheduling is flexible from M-F, 10am-6pm. When available, free access is offered to SWDA Open Technique Classes for those with a dance background. All interns will have the opportunity to observe company in rehearsals.
