Call for Choreographers

A Dance Can presents
“A MODERN TRIBUTE”
November 30 - December 1, 2012

Performance Dates: Friday, Nov. 30 - Saturday, Dec. 1
Location: Center for Performance Research (Brooklyn)
Application Deadline: September 7th, 2012

A Modern Tribute is a celebration of dance and music – a chance to showcase choreography to iconic songs or songs by our music idols. The intention of the show is to encourage choreographers to use their own artistic voice in creating a modern tribute to a musical legend. Your work could be fun or sincere – it’s up to you! While showing respect to our musical influences, we want artists to expand their own movement skills. The emphasis of the festival is to promote the influence of musicians on modern/contemporary dancing (not to be mistaken as lyrical), but all styles of dance are welcome to apply.

If you are interested in applying you can find the application here:https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B7kavDrKRA2KVGhpNUFWRlh2UUU/edit?pli=1

This is the inaugural year of the show and we know it will be a success! Thanks for your interest!More information is available about A Dance Can and the show at www.adancecan.org.
