Spark Movement Collective (Spark) is seeking well-rounded, athletic female and male dancers with a background in modern and ballet for its upcoming 2012-2013 Season. Spark is looking for dancers with strong stage presence and the ability to give creative input while picking up steps quickly. A private audition will be held on Tuesday, August 28th from 8:00-9:30pm in Midtown. To apply for the audition please email your resume, headshot, and links to dance footage to Chelsea Koenig at chelsea@sparkmovementcollective.org. Applications will not be accepted after Saturday, August 25th.

Spark’s season will include indoor and outdoor site-specific works in Washington Square Park, the 5x5 Festival, Dixon Place, and more. New contemporary modern works will be developed and performed for multiple festivals in the New York area in addition to multiple solo performances in Manhattan in November and May. Rehearsals are held on Tuesdays from 5:30-8:00pm or 6:30-9:00pm with occasional Sunday or Monday rehearsals close to performance dates.

Spark’s mission is to create an accessible dance experience by approaching universal concepts and issues, working with multi-disciplinary artists, and fostering a positive creative environment for dancers. To learn more about Spark visit www.sparkmovementcollective.org.

At this point in time Spark is unable to offer payment to dancers with the exception of several small projects.
