The Women in Dance project will begin in July, 2013. Choreographers will meet to receive feedback from professionals in the dance industry , participate in two showings, attend workshops, and the completed work will be staged at The Ailey Citigroup Theatre in December, 2013.

Women in Dance former mentors included Ms. Debbie Allen, Ms. Camille A. Brown, Dr. Renee Redding-Jones, Ms. Kate Weare, Ms. Sidra Bell, Ms. Phyllis Lamhut.

Submissions shouldinclude: Name of Choreographer, Headshot, Resume, Title of piece, Estimated length of piece, Number of dancers who will perform the piece, Brief description of the work in progress, and a link to view the work you wish to submit or an excerpt of a work online. There is a non-refundable $15.00 application fee per submission payable online atwww.legrosculturalarts.org(on the home page click on donate to submit your application fee).

We will accept up to 3 submissions per choreographer. The top 20 choreographers will be selected for a live audition in April of which 10 choreographers will be selected for the project.)DEADLINE March 15, 2013
