Audition for Women, Dancer/Actor

 
Short Narrative Movement Film, Directed by Gabrielle Lansner

Invited Audition: Thursday April 4th, 12 – 2pm

 Casting Females:

Actor/Dancer for Narrative Movement Film with Eastern European Look.

 

Gabrielle lansner & company, a critically acclaimed dance/theater/film company is casting for two female Performers with acting, dancing and/or movement training for a new film project based on THE BIRCH GROVE, a short novella by Jaroslaw Iwaszkiewicz, an preeminent Polish writer.

 

This will be a collaborative development process to create the work and movement. Strong modern dance/movement technique, ability to improvise and collaborate and a background in theater and the Viewpoints helpful.

Emotionally expressive performers.

 

Casting:

Malina-  early 20’s- Peasant Girl           Earthy, Seductive, Playful        

Basia- 20’s – A Ghost                                Ethereal, ghostly, fluid mover

 

Paid Rehearsals & Shoot: 

1 to 2 rehearsals a week

 

Rehearsals:  April 8th – April 25th, 1 to 2 times a week during these time slots:

Wednesday: 2 -5PM

Thursday: 1 – 4pm

Friday: 12 – 3pm

 

Additional Rehearsal period in Mid-May

May 13 – 31st

Monday – Thursday 1- 4pm

 

Filming TBA in late June or late August

THE BIRCH GROVE is the story of two brothers who reunite after not seeing each other for many years. The younger brother, Stas, comes to visit his brother after spending time in a sanitorium in Switzerland. He has come home to die. His older brother is a forester who is recently widowed and consumed by work. As the story unfolds we witness the connection that both brother’s have to love and death and how they are transformed by their last meeting.
