YOUR MOVEis Jersey City's first and only modern dance festival, designed to support emerging choreographer.YOUR MOVE welcomes a wide range of movement performance including modern and post-modern dance, physical theater, dance-theater, improvisational performance, dance films, and more. Choreographers are invited to submit one movement-based piece (no more than 13 minutes in length) for consideration.The entry piece can either be an existing dance, or a proposal for new work. If the latter, a written proposal plus two other existing work samples must be included.

APPLICATIONS ARE DUE NO LATER THAN JUNE 20, 2013. Accepted choreographers will be notified by mid-July.PERFORMANCES ARE NOVEMBER 7-10, 2013,with each choreographer/company given two performance slots over the four-day period. Choreographers are given their performance slots upon acceptance. Tech times are in the evenings Monday – Wednesday, November 4-6th, and Thursday November 7th during the day. Tech times are assigned at the time of acceptance and need to be confirmed by you in order to complete your acceptance.

THIS FESTIVAL IS MEANT TO INSPIRE CONNECTIVITY. Accepted Choreographers are expected to take an active role in the entire production,by promoting the show and your participation in it through social media, ticket sales, word of mouth, flyer and poster distribution. Accepted artists must communicate promptly with the Choreographer Liaison about tech needs and piece development updates, particularly if the work is still under development.
