Newly renovated Chen Dance Center announces an Open Call for auditions for the Fall 2013 newsteps series, featuring emerging choreographers in who are creating new works and works-in-progress. This semi-annual series, est. in 1994, has presented over 250 artists and is dedicated to providing support and performance opportunities for experimental, innovative, and risk-taking works. Selected choreographers will be presented in three performances in January, receive a space grant, and an honorarium. A lighting designer and publicity will be provided for the production.

Located in Lower Manhattan, the Chen Dance Theater is a state-of-the-art black box venue ideal for modern dance. Please call for audition appointment. No fees required.
