CALL FOR ARTISTS:   Feb-Mar 2014


collaborate:create Artist Residency-- CALL FOR PHOTOGRAPHERS, PERFORMING ARTISTS, VISUAL ARTISTS, WRITERS, MUSICIANS, DANCERS,

FILMMAKERS, ACTORS, DIRECTORS


Now in its 4th cycle, collaborate:create is a 3-week, process-driven residency that brings artists together across disciplines to create unfiltered new works focusing on one socially relevant theme. collaborate:create exists to create in the now because of the now.  We aim to uphold our social responsibility as artists by utilizing our forms of expression to address current issues in our society. The residency culminates in a one-evening public exhibition.


This program is in residence at Theaterlab, 357 W. 36th St. We are seeking a group of 15-18 artists. Artists must be available for a potential interview slot on Sunday February 16th between 6-10pm.

Additionally, artists MUST be able to attend all mandatory meeting dates, held Sundays:

February 23rd, 6 - 11:30pm

March 2nd, 6 - 11:30pm

March 9th, 6 - 11:30pm

March 16th, Exhibition (full day tech/set-up, exhibition 7-10pm)


Artists will have the opportunity to collaborate across disciplines, use free and subsidized work space, and present their work to the public in a unique environment that highlights process and fosters the audience-artist relationship.
