KATE WEARE COMPANY IS SEEKING INTERNS!

THE KATE WEARE COMPANY IS SEEKING INTERNS!

Kate Weare Company is a Brooklyn-based contemporary dance company known for its startling combination of formal choreographic values and visceral, emotional interpretation.

We are currently looking for motivated, creative individuals interested in sharpening or gaining new skills in all areas of arts administration.

Regardless of your level of experience, as long as you’re adaptable and self-motivated, we will provide training. Internships are unpaid.

Administrative Internship (8 Weeks)

Spend 4 hours per week assisting KWCo staff on a variety of creative projects and important practical tasks.  This program is a good fit for those who want to gain real hands-on training in arts management but don’t yet have a lot of experience.  Interns will have the opportunity to begin learning skills in their desired focus areas.

Program Internship (16 Weeks)

Spend 6 hours per week participating in management training, strategic planning sessions and working on independent projects. This is a great choice for those who have interned with us before or those with some prior experience in the field who already possess basic skills in their desired focus area and who want to take on a more serious role in the company.

Shifts take place during business hours on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays.

Internship Focus Areas May Include:

Fundraising

Marketing & PR

Grant Writing

Budgeting & Finance

Digital Media & Graphic Design

Technical Production

Company Management

Real Opportunity to Grow

Outstanding interns receive priority consideration for part-time paid positions with KWCo. All our interns have found they’ve built a supportive network of fellow interns, artists and staff.

Join us as we embark on a nonstop series of dance workshops, outside commissions, touring and performances this year and next. We can’t wait to hear from you!

To apply for a KWCo internship, please send the following to volunteer@kateweare.com:

Your resume or an overview of your administrative skills

An idea of your computer fluency and software experience

A brief writing sample, if possible

Your general availability and schedule

Any other background info you think might be relevant

Don’t have a lot of time, but still want to help?

KWCo also needs volunteers for single day opportunities like mailings, special events, and performances.
