Volunteer Ushers Needed for Upcoming Performances

SYREN Modern Dance is looking for volunteers to usher for their upcoming performances May 2-3 and May 9-10.  Volunteers will be asked to arrive at 6:30pm for 7:30pm performances.  Volunteer ushers will have the opportunity to watch most if not all of the performance for free.  Please contact lynn@syrendance.org if you are interested in assisting our company.  We would love to meet you and share our work with you!

Here are some more details about the performances:

SYREN Modern Dance, presented by Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, will be the closing event of the 46th Season of Bach Vespers.  The company will premiere a dance that was created at Holy Trinity itself, with Bach's The Art of Fugue as the centerpiece of the production.  The dance explores definitions of beauty while searching for its existence in a world filled with detachment, immediacy, and exploitation.  The Paul Fritts organ heightens the senses, evoking imagery and inspiring movement from every crevice, step, and pillar.

Choreographer: Kate St. Amand
Musicians: Rick Erickson and Donald Meineke
Dancers: Sonja Dale, Jean-René Homehr, Xuexin (Nico) Li,
Darcie Perkins, and Lynn Peterson
Lighting Design: Nick Kolin
Costume Design: Naomi Luppescu
