Terra Firma Dance Theatre

Choreographic Essentials, created by Helen Pickett(www.helenpickett.com), is a unique and immersive dance think-tank initiated in 2012. Designed to develop, cultivate and expand the compositional/ choreographic and performance skill-sets of the participants, the program is now extending an invitation to professional and professional aspirant dancers, ages 16-25.

Space is limited to an exclusive group of 25 participants, so early registration is encouraged.

A 6-day intensive, occurring in NYC June 2-7, 2014 Choreographic Essentials, draws from the extensive experience of Helen Pickett (former Principal Dancer, Ballet Frankfurt; current Resident Choreographer, Atlanta Ballet and free-lance choreographer) and partner choreographer, Stuart Loungway (formerly San Francisco Ballet; current Artistic Director, Terra Firma Dance Theatre; 2014 Kaatsban Resident Choreographic Artist) in providing a forum and guidance that reinforces the creative process, risk-taking, artistic autonomy and professional development. A particular emphasis will be placed upon the generation of new ideas, and the subsequent actualization of the material generated by the participants, under the tutelage of Ms. Pickett and Mr. Loungway.  The final day of the workshop will feature a showing of the work created by participants.

Please contact choreoessentials@gmail.com to register, or for any inquiries.
