Dance Visions NY: ColorSong Dance

Dance Visions NY: ColorSong Dance Drew McConville

Dance Visions NY, Inc. is looking for one dancer (male or female) to join the company for a new, paid project. We will be creating  and performing a forty minute multi-disciplinary, whimsical dance work based on themes inspired by the images and words of artist Susan Ruth Cohen’s book, ColorSong.  Choregrapher Beth Jucovy, composer Paul Joseph and Ms. Cohen will collaborate to create a new work encompassing original choreography, original music and large, flexible objects. The dance unfolds in a sequence of lively shapes, colors and sounds. One dancer searches for order and meaning, attempting to make sense of seemingly random events.
We are looking for a dancer who enjoys creative work and improvisation, is a good collaborator, has excellent technique, musicality and presence as well as dependability.

Rehearsals will take place Mondays and Tuesdays 1:30- 4  in July and August in Great Neck, Long Island, and perhaps some week-end days after Labor Day. We have a series of 5 performances which take place week-ends in October. and November. Please see the website for exact dates.
This is a fully paid project.

Please only apply if you seriously interested  and are fully able to make the rehearsal times and venue. Rehearsals will take place in Great Neck, NY and will begin July 7. A car would be helpful but is not necessary.

Please send resume, head shot, dance photo and website and/or video to dancevisions.ny@gmail.com
Audition will include an interview.

If  you seem like a good match, you will be contacted to set up an audition date.
