Whim W'Him seeking Choreographers for new experimental program

Whim W’Him Choreographic Shindig 2015

SUBMISSION DEADLINE -  OCTOBER 1, 2014

Whim W’Him dancers, under the artistic direction of Olivier Wevers, seek choreographers to create new dance works for the company's inaugural "Choreographic Shindig 2015." Selected choreographers will be invited to create original dances with the Whim W'Him dancers. Choreographers share three to four weeks residency which culminates in eight public performances in Seattle September, 2015.

Whim W’Him Choreographic Shindig is a new concept...we are offering an opportunity for emerging and established choreographers to develop works on our dancers. The dancers will be involved in selecting the choreographers for the residency which culminates with performances of the new creations. This experimental model gives the dancers a voice in curating the program, becoming fully involved in a new aspect of the artistic process

+ Choreographers will receive a $2,000 stipend; travel and housing will also be provided
+ Selected choreographers will have 40 hours of rehearsal space with the Whim W’Him dancers
+ Budget for costumes and other technical needs is limited, and shall be discussed with the Artistic Director
