Gain Dance Theater Production Experience and Volunteer for The MoveShop!

 

'You Absolute Dreamer' is a new dance theater work created by The MoveShop. This work is premiering at University Settlement's Speyer Hall on Friday, September 12th and Saturday, September 13th. The MoveShop is looking for volunteers to help in this presentation. Position vary in committment and responsibilities. Positions available are Usher, Box Office/Merchandise and Assistant Stage Manager. Please see position descriptions below.

Volunteers will get the opportunity to watch 'You Absolute Dreamer' free of charge, meet the company and gain first hand experience in their volunteer assignment. 

Usher:
Greet audience members at the door, hand out programs, show VIP ticket holders to their seats, fold programs before performances, stay about 30minutes into show to help late comers find their seats.
Commitment: Friday, Sept 12th 6:30pm - 8:30pm Saturday, Sept 13th 12:30pm - 2:30pm and 6:30pm - 8:30pm. 

Box Office/Merchandise: 
Oversee the box office - sale of tickets for day of show and will call tickets - and The MoveShop merchandise table. We use a PayPal credit card square and cash to process sales. 
Commitment: Friday, Sept 12th 6:30pm - 10pm Saturday, Sept 13th 12:30pm - 4pm and 6:30pm - 10pm. 

Tech Assistant/Assistant Stage Manager:
Assists the Stage Manager and Tech Director with costumes (transportations and cleaning), props, hanging lights, stage managing, and other tasks that may arise. 
Commitment: Monday - Friday Sept 8-12 5:45pm - 11pm, all day Saturday, Sept 13 and load out Monday, Sept 15 in the afternoon - ASM is also encouraged to attend rehearsal Sunday, Sept 7th to gain knowledge of the production.
