Audition for New Dance Theater Piece: Ephemera

SEEKING:

Male and female dancers for a new dance theater piece to be presented at The Tank.

ABOUT:

Ephemera is a study in our quest to preserve memories and art and what that means for our relationship with the earth. Dancer’s bodies provide an ephemeral moment of exploration and community, while challenging the audience’s idea of permanence.

Through interviews with scientists and specialists from the American Museum of Natural History and various colleges and Universities who specialize in pre-historic art and geology, we will grapple with these questions and challenge the audience to do the same.

Created, choreographed and directed by Annalisa Ledson. She has created and performed in new works at The 14th Street Y, The WorkShop Theatre, Joe’s Pub, Brooklyn Arts Exchange, Playwrights Theatre of NJ, Windhover Performing Arts, New Perspectives Theatre, Opera House Arts, Two Rivers Theatre, The Chain Theatre, The Tank, Under St. Marks, Mark Morris, The Actors Fund Arts Center, The Clurman and most recently at HERE. The production co-ordinator for National Choreography Month and an associate artist with THEATRE 4the PEOPLE and a recipient of Excellence in Acting & Choreography Awards. 

Direction and script advising by Jamie Watkins. He has worked with Obie Award-winning directors Alec Duffy (JACK/Hoi Polloi), Rachel Chavkin (the TEAM), Ian Morgan (The New Group), Ron Russell (Epic Theatre Ensemble) and the Jeff Award-winning Redmoon Theater in Chicago, IL. Credits include Dixon Place, the Brick, Manhattan Rep, JACK, Opera House Arts, & Emerging Artists Theatre.
