Whitney V. Hunter seeks interdisciplinary performers to participate in a 4-day performance workshop: P.L.A.Y.*  Performers should have previous professional experience in body-based performance (dance, voice, improvisation, and other forms).  This performance workshop is part of Hunter’s Movement Research 2013-2015 residency.  Following the 4-day workshop, a select number of participants will be contacted for future engagement with WhitneyHunter[MEDIUM].  Please wear suitable attire for high-impact physical work.

*P.L.A.Y. (Physical, Liveness, Action, You) offers the participant technical, improvisational and compositional structures by which to become aware of corporeal (including vocal) action.  Workshop capacity is 20 people. 

BIO:  Whitney V. Hunter is an interdisciplinary performance artist, choreographer, independent curator and educator who has performed in the companies of, and with, Martha Graham Dance Company, Reggie Wilson Fist and Heel Performance Group, Rioult Dance, John Jesurun, Fiona Templeton, Jaamil Olawale Kosoko, Daria Faïn and Robert Kocik, and Martha Clarke.  He creates and curates for the stage, gallery, and alternative spaces, and directs his performance collective Whitney Hunter[MEDIUM].  He has been featured as one of Trace Magazine’s “7 NYC Dancers on the Rise,” is a Movement Research Artist in Residence (2013-15), and a curatorial adviser for Black Male Revisited at Danspace Projects (2014).  WHITNEYHUNTER.COM
