Purple Threads Ensemble in collaboration with guest choreographer Jessica Taylor of DAMAGEDANCE are seeking 9 strong dancers with contemporary backgrounds who have a basic understanding of poetic language.  We are developing an original, collaborative work that integrates dance and text into a seamless storyline.  Partnering will be involved.  This ensemble-based workshop will explore existing text and scenes through movement and culminate in a final showing for a selected feedback panel.

We welcome dancers with versatile backgrounds, who are interested in working on long term projects and bring a generous & curious attitude towards creating new works.  This is a process-oriented project.

Must be available for the following dates/times.  You will not be cast if you are not available for all of the dates below:

Thursday 6-9pm:  Nov 20th

Saturday 9am-1pm:  Nov 22nd

Thursdays 6-9pm:  Dec 4th – Dec 11th

Saturdays 1-5pm:  Dec 6th – Dec 13th

*Saturday Dec 13th will be a potential Final Showing with an invited Feedback Panel

Background on the project:

Originally produced as One-Act play at the 2012 Kitchen Riots Festival, this marks the 4th in a series of development workshops for 'Call Me She.'

This collaboration between director Danielle Velkoff, writer Jen Browne, and choreographer Jess Taylor of DAMAGEDANCE seeks to integrate dance, text, music and technical elements into a seamless storyline.  The four week, ensemble-based workshop sets out to explore existing text and scenes through movement and will culminate in a final showing for a selected feedback panel.  Our goal is to explore concepts of Identity and the flexibility of the human mind.
