Deadline Approaching: Female Choreographers, making work on pointe, for CounterPointe3

CounterPointe3 - women making new work on pointe.

Norte Maar in collaboration with Brooklyn Ballet is now accepting submissions for the third annual performance series featuring emerging and established women choreographers making new work on pointe. We seek female choreographers who wish to present pieces on pointe of approx 3-13 minutes in length.

Investigating new and old territory CounterPointe highlights new work, opens up discussion, and creates a forum for women, young or old, emerging or established, to take risks. The series is dedicated to presenting the latest work that shows a depth of investment in ballet by women dance makers choreographing with the pointe shoe. The evening is curated by Julia K. Gleich.

The venue has an unobstructed marley floor over resilient wood. Basic lighting plot. Dimensions: 23 feet deep by 40 feet wide. No cross over and minimal wing space.

Deadline for submissions: January 28, 2015

Details:
Tech: Tues or Wed, April 7 or 8

Performances (TBC): Fri-Sat April 10-11 at 7:30pm / Sun, April 12 at 4pm.
If selected, your work may appear in all performances.

Venue: The Actors Fund Arts Center, 160 Schermerhorn Street, Brooklyn

Please submit: Artistic CV (including name and contact information) and online link to video of proposed piece (no headshots or stills).
