Diverse Performers Needed for Rock Ballet

Diverse Performers Needed for Rock Ballet Photo by Marc Molina

Diverse performers needed for productions slated for next Spring-Fall in NYC (Dixon Place, Theatre for the New City, Jamaica Performing Arts Center, etc.)

Auditions will be held on February 12, 2015. Rehearsals will take place March-April some evenings, weekends and other times as scheduling allows. Details will be given to applicants who best fit our needs.

About the Show:
Scheherazade is no longer a Queen staving off execution by her cruel husband but a woman condemned to death by the criminal justice system. 1001 Nights: Love Stories on Death Row is a feast for all five senses featuring stories from the Middle East, North Africa, India, China and Greece and an original musical score consisting of Hip Hop, Rock and World Music. We will explore what it means to be the "minority" in terms of ethnicity, religion, sex and sexual orientation within society particularly as it relates to the American prison-industrial complex.

To Apply:
To be considered for an audition slot please reply to kandakedance@gmail.com with your bio or resume, 2 professional references, a picture of yourself or video of your dancing if possible.

Also tell us why the project interests you.

Must be 18 years old or older to apply. All ethnicities and genders will be considered for any role.
