Internship with Suzanne Beahrs Dance

 

Suzanne Beahrs Dance, a New York City-based modern dance company, is seeking

two interns to assist with preparations for our second full-length performance at

Danspace Project at St. Mark’s Church, February 5th- 7th 2015. This position will

include work on marketing, booking, event planning, scheduling, assistance in

rehearsals and development, this October through February 5th-7th, 2015.

Interns will assist in the plans and executions of our second NYC season, including

the various tasks below:

• Attend some rehearsals and assist/observe when appropriate. May include

running music, taking notes, or filming rehearsals.

• Assist with mailings and in-
person postcard distribution.

• Help with promotion via social media, assist with costume research. 

• Assist the company while we’re in the theater in February 5th-7th (tech

dates February 2nd-5th), including running music for no-tech rehearsals,

possibly ushering or assisting in the theater box office/making the pre-show

announcement, etc.

• Gain valuable experience that would help prepare oneself for managing

a dance company or working in arts administration. Opportunities may

be available to attend meetings with collaborators such as our upcoming

production meeting with the theater and lighting designer.

2-3 hours/week, flexible hours.

Qualifications: Organized, reliable, and interested in learning about growing a dance

company in New York City. Strong communication and writing skills.
