Chen Dance Center's NEWSTEPS Series provides production support, rehearsal space, showcase opportunities and an honorarium to emerging choreographers.  An OPEN CALL-IN will be held on TUESDAY JAN 6 at 12 noon, with auditions on Jan 23 & 24. Selected choreographers will be presented May 7-9, 2015.

Each choreographer may propose up to 10 minutes of work for the series. All works must be NEW or IN-PROGRESS and should not be performed in New York City three months prior to, or after, the newsteps performances. Arrangements must be made in advance for pieces having special technical needs or requiring clean-up. 

AUDITION AND APPLICATION 

NO fees required for choreographers. To receive an audition spot and application, please call (212) 349-0126, 0438 or 0618 on Tues, Jan 6th at noon. The completed application must be returned by Wednesday January 14th. At the audition, each choreographer may present up to 7 minutes of a work-in-progress, with the remaining time left for discussion with the panel.
