call for collaborators: Dances for Solidarity

Dances for Solidarity is an unconventional performance project that relies on written correspondence with incarcerated people in solitary confinement across the United States.

We are currently forming a core team of collaborators: artists who are interested in corresponding with incarcerated person(s) on a regular basis and who want to be involved with nontraditional performance/event design.

This project will officially begin mid-April, and collaborators should be available in some capacity at least through September. Collaboration will take many forms, but regular letter writing will be a key component.

If you are moved by human rights struggles, prison reform or the variations in our individual existence and/or if you are interested in ways dance can infiltrate new spaces with the possibility of creating change, please get in touch.

Current students may consider this project for internship credit.

Send an email with your interest. A meeting of all potential collaborators will occur in the coming weeks.
