Join Benjamin Levy and LEVYdance Company Artists for a week-long summer intensive focusing on technique, partnering, composition, repertory, and performance practice. The intensive provides a rigorous setting to:

-Explore your movement patterns and how to expand beyond them
-Discover how to fill the stage and studio with your presence
-Investigate how to physically communicate an authentic experience

This year’s Summer Intensive culminates with a performance opportunity at LEVYdance’s eclectic showcase, the Salon, on June 20th. Students will have the opportunity to perform with the company alongside other professional artists from all over the San Francisco Bay Area.

Intensive Curriculum:

Performance practice investigates awareness and presence, bringing together who we are as dancers and who we are as individuals, fostering a richer and more authentic performance experience.

LEVYdance technique concentrates on the principles of momentum, weight, attack, and detail.

Composition exercises provide each participant the opportunity to sources original movement and discover a personal approach to creation.

LEVYdance partnering plays with momentum and weight to create new physical and intentional relationships with two or more dancers in space.
