Do you love dance?
Are you interested in learning about arts management?

Interning for WHITE WAVE is a great opportunity to take a look behind the scenes of a vibrant NY dance company in the non-profit sector.

WHITE WAVE is looking for individuals who are, first and foremost, interested in the NYC dance community. Having a courteous demeanor is important in order to work well with staff, artists and the general public. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and online-media is also crucial.

WHITE WAVE Dance Brief Overview:
Formed in 1988, WHITE WAVE Dance is a non-profit arts organization whose main goal is to be a catalyst for change in the NY dance scene. From its full-length dance productions to dance education and outreach, WHITE WAVE accomplishes its mission by providing opportunities for dancers and choreographers to create, rehearse, perform and network with each other, engaging in an ongoing dialogue that pushes the art form forward.

After 14 successful years of operation in DUMBO, WHITE WAVE recently relocated its administrative operations to Bedford-Stuyvesant (J train, Kosciuszko Street), and is looking to transition into a new, permanent home in the second half of the year. 

Activities:
Interns/Volunteers will have a unique opportunity to assist in various aspects of the pre-production of WHITE WAVE's upcoming 2015/2016 festival season, which includes:

- 15th Annual DUMBO Dance Festival (Sept. 24th-27th, 2015)
- 10th Annual Wave Rising Series (April 2016)
- First ever Solo/Duo Festival (April 29th-30th, 2016)

Their tasks will include, but are not limited to
* The development and distribution of application materials/Calls for Proposals
* Assisting in marketing and PR activities such as social media outreach and online marketing
* Grant research and grant writing
* Data entry, web-based research, and other general office activities

Internships are unpaid, but can be used for academic credit. Interns should expect to work 10-20 hours per week. The work schedule for interns is flexible within our office hours, Mon-Fri, 10am-6pm and during festival times.
