The Naganuma 2 NYC AUDITION is happening in just 2 days! Join us Saturday, June 20 from 5:30-7 pm at The Ailey Studios (5:15 pm sign in). Seeking M/F dancers ages 17-22 with strong contemporary/ballet technique and excellent improvisational skills. Freestyle dancers (house, waacking, breaking, popping, etc) will also be considered.  This summer, company class will be taught by Assistant Director Nile Russell (former Dance Captain, Pilobolus), Eric Williams (Kyle Abraham), Barrington Hinds (Petronio), Katherine Roarty (Queen of the Night, Flashdance The Musical - Dance Captain), and Artistic Director Darcy Naganuma.

This is an open call, but registered dancers will be seen first. Email casting@naganumadance.com to reserve a spot. MUST be available to rehearse August 10-21 & perform August 21/22 in NYC.  Current BFA candidates are strongly encouraged to audition.

This year, select dancers will have the opportunity to take part in paid projects following the showing: a dance film project and Spring 2016 immersive, evening length premiere in NYC! Touring to follow.

*Naganuma 2 is a seasonal, pre-professional dance company. Designed to launch emerging talent into the professional dance world, the company functions as a preparatory arena for both Naganuma Dance and the wider NYC performing community. Unique in its short, intense performance season, the company allows BFA candidates, recent graduates, and international students the opportunity to transition into the NYC dance scene--while maintaining other fall-spring commitments. As they progress toward honing a distinct artistic voice, each company member will receive structured feedback, mentorship, and networking opportunities.

Naganuma 2 alumni are performing with artists/companies like Kyle Abraham, Shen Wei, Pilobolus, Punchdrunk, Karole Armitage, Buglisi Dance, ABT, Stuttgart Ballet, Gallim Dance,  & Elisa Monte, among others.  Some are now making their own work. Others have transitioned to work on Broadway or the commercial dance world of touring/music videos/television.  A few have gone to medical school/law school and continue to dance.  :)  See you SATURDAY!
